The original requirement was for a 3 day project to develop a simple method of tracking which projects had billable expense items and which did not; and to provide staff a web interface to the information.
The project took 10 months. As the client defined the requirements, they became aware of what other data elements could also be kept track of for each project. The list of additional requirements seemed endless and when finally delivered, the client had an entire project management system which tracked most of the aspects of a projects life cycle. This application has been in use since 2001 and is available to all staff within a firm of 150 personnel. The application uses a Microsoft Access front end with the data maintained on Microsoft SQL Server. |
